JT Ranch Quilt Shop, LLC started as JT Ranch Dry Goods in 2008.
It was located on the Choate Ranch, 12 miles west of Cisco, Texas and 17 miles east of Albany, Texas. The Choate Ranch is owned and operated by the Choate Family.
The brand, JT, used by the store is a registered brand used by the Choate family for over 100 years.
After my retirement, I opened the quilt shop in 2008 in a barn with longarm quilting and a “Prayer Quilt Ministry”.
Ladies came from around the area to make quilts to give away for sickness, new babies, marriage, or just give to someone to make their day special. The quilts were branded with uplifting Scripture. The shop exploded from that point!
As a result of this growth, it was necessary to move to a larger facility. In 2014, I moved from the Ranch to the store’s current location at 706 Conrad Hilton in downtown Cisco.
The facility holds over 4000 bolts of fabric, gift shop, production area for embroidery and longarm quilting, Handi Quilter demonstration area and a classroom and demonstration area for piecing quilts.
Future plans are to have a 4000 sq ft retreat/bed and breakfast and event area.
The store services include longarm quilting, monogramming and screen printing, classes and a Handi Quilter full service department including sales.
Classes for adults and children include beginning sewing and quilting classes, traditional quilting classes, Block of the Month, Day Retreat, etc.
Classes for kids include “Kids Sew Cool Sewing Camp” and “Kids Saturday Club”.
Fabric lines from Moda, Riley Blake, Maywood, Wilmington, Quilting Treasures, as well as other lines are included in the fabric line up. Western Fabric is included in all lines of fabric.
